Something I heard.

We had a guest speaker come and visit tonight at youth group.  He was a philosopher and one of the kids asked him, "Why do bad things happen?"  The guest speaker responded, "If everything was perfect and nothing bad ever happened, would we still pay any attention to God?"

  1. If nothing bad ever happened we would not need to trust in God. Bad things happen to test a believers faith and to cause him/her to endure and hope. No matter what happens in a believers life, whether good or bad, it all works together for good. God never does anything without a reason and all the bad things in life are in God's will to happen. That is why we need to pray and trust that God knows what he is doing, even when life is not as happy as we wish it would be. So to answer the question....no, we would not pay any attention to God if nothing bad ever happened....Bad things happen to remind us that we need to trust in God and that He is in control.
