The Man By the River

In a country of men, brave and wise,
A man by the river did dwell.
No fights or riots to bother him so,
He said to himself, "All is well."

The nights are cool and the days are bright,
Great is the winter snow.
The fall is warm and the tree leaves fall,
Nigh in the sky the stars glow.

The trees are tall and the rivers wide,
Alone the man did cry.
For no one to share with this joyful sight,
To paint this in his life, he would have to try.
